Tamarack Resort Holdings to invest immediately to complete Village Plaza

As you may have seen in the news, the State Board of Land Commissioners approved transfer of the state land lease to Tamarack Resort Holdings (TRH), a partnership of investors and managers with decades of development and operations experience at premier resort properties across North America. This clears the way for a new chapter in Tamarack Resort’s history.

With the lease assignment, TRH is now able to proceed with closing on its acquisition of all resort operations and key assets on Nov. 30.

The TRH investor Imperium Blue is a family office with previous and current holdings in commercial real estate and operations at Whistler Blackcomb, Mammoth, Snowshoe, Copper Mountain and Stratton, among other destination resort locations. The family office is comprised of the Imperium Companies, MMG Equity Partners, and Blue River Family Office Partners. Resort and ski industry veteran Jon Reveal will oversee long-term development and operations as TRH President. Reveal began his career skiing for the iconic Warren Miller before moving into ski area management at resorts including Keystone and Arapahoe Basin, and as vice president of Operations for Aspen Skiing Company. He then designed, built and operated Yellowstone Club, a world-class, private resort. Most recently, Reveal served as general manager of Sleeping Giant, a nonprofit ski area.

Tamarack now has an ownership group with the experience and expertise necessary to take the resort forward and execute on the original vision. That includes immediately investing in and finishing the permanent Village Plaza in time for the 2019-2020 ski season. The TRH team is also assessing other areas for priority investment to improve resort amenities, lodging and recreation offerings, and for future development.

Tamarack Realty, located at 850 Village Drive in the Discovery Square, remains the exclusive full-service, on-site brokerage company for the resort.

The resort had a 32% increase in sales volume between 2017 and 2018 and will see even stronger interest as the new resort owners move forward with their plans, which will include a release of the Village Plaza condominiums in 2019.

ACTUAL RELEASE FROM TRH HOLDINGS 11/20/18:

DONNELLY, Idaho (Nov. 20, 2018) —Tamarack Resort Holdings (“TRH”), a partnership of investors and managers with decades of development and operations experience at premier resort properties across North America, has entered into an agreement to purchase all of the Tamarack Resort operations and key assets in Donnelly, Idaho.

The announcement follows the State Board of Land Commissioners’ approval this morning to transfer the state lands lease to TRH for continued mountain operations.

TRH is purchasing all key assets necessary to operate the resort now and accommodate future expansion plans, including property on mountain, ski lifts and operations equipment, lodge amenities, lodging operations, the telecommunications utility, declarant rights, lake front equipment, sewer and water bonds, a portion of the golf course and the unfinished Village Plaza. TRH is also purchasing other private real estate assets and parcels and is taking over the lease to operate The Arling Center event venue. The transactions will close Nov. 30, 2018.

“We have been evaluating and working on this agreement for nearly two years to truly understand the history and complexities of the resort. The partnership strongly believes Tamarack has a tremendous opportunity to thrive as a four-season destination of choice for Idahoans and visitors from across North America,” said TRH President Jon Reveal. “Our team looks forward to proving our commitment to Tamarack, Valley County residents, Idahoans and all our guests through investment, completion of unfinished projects and improved resort amenities and offerings.”

After the closing, efforts will focus on preparing for a full-mountain opening for the 2018-2019 winter season — projected for December 14 or earlier, if conditions permit. The TRH operations team is assessing all aspects of the resort to determine where investment is needed most to improve the guest experience immediately.

The development team is currently seeking bids from contractors to complete construction of the Village Plaza, with a goal to begin in early 2019 and be ready for the 2019-2020 winter season. The completed Village Plaza will includeretail, restaurant, lodging and resort operations.

Visitors to Tamarack Resort this winter will not experience any noticeable changes. The temporary base village will remain intact throughout this season; season passes and Express Cards purchased for the 2018-19 season will be honored; day ticket prices will remain the same;  and all previously scheduled events, weddings, conferences and competitions will be honored and will proceed as scheduled.

FIRST TURNS | THIS WEEKEND

Grab your gear and head up to Tamarack Resort this Friday, Saturday and Sunday for our Preview Weekend!

The Discovery Chair will be turning from 10am to 3pm allowing guests to make some turns on our beginner area. The beginner area will be the only open terrain for this early season event. While we won’t be offering the big mountain experience quite yet, we’re building out some terrain park features into the beginner terrain to keep our more experienced skiers and riders challenged. Season passes will be honored this weekend, while regular tickets for the day will be just $10, and children 6 and under ski free.

This weekend is a great opportunity to pick up your season pass prior to the holiday rush. Plus, the resort will have its complete retail selection ready for those looking for holiday gifts. Equipment rentals and lessons will also be available. Hot Shots Café will be open from 8am-5pm, and Seven Devils Pub will be open from 11am to 10pm as well.

Expanded Terrain Schedule

The resort intends to close on Sunday afternoon, and continue to push towards our projected opening date of Friday, December 14.  If snowmaking and natural snowfall allow, we will open for 7-day-a-week operations on this day. Stay tuned to our snow report for more information.

FORK & KNIFE | FERN & FEATHER

Tamarack’s new restaurant, Fern & Feather, will open in December at the Lodge at Osprey Meadows. This restaurant will be in the location of the former Morels restaurant space. The location has gone through a significant renovation with the help of Kirsten Grove, a well-known blogger, interior stylist and Tam Fam member.

The Fern & Feather will have a refined, yet comfortable, atmosphere for guests looking for a night out at Tamarack. The menu will be posted in early December, but why wait to plan a visit? Our reservation system is available now, and guests can begin making reservations immediately.

The restaurant will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and select holidays during the winter season. The Fern & Feather’s opening weekend is scheduled for December 14 & 15.

The Fern & Feather is Tamarack’s newest dining experience.  Located at the Lodge at Osprey Meadows, the Fern & Feather is a dining option for those looking for an upscale, yet comfortable night out.

The restaurant is completing construction and set to open Friday, December 14.  The design of the restaurant was created by Kirsten Grove, who is a Boise resident, well-known blogger, interior stylist and Tam Fam Member.  The atmosphere is inspired by Parisian apartments and will feature velvet and vintage leather booths, spindle back chairs and linen-covered tables.

Our new restaurant will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and select holiday dates during the winter of 2018-19.  Holiday dates are:
