Tamarack Realty’s second page of the summer edition of our Homes & Land Magazine advertising will look much different in the next Fall Edition!

Tamarack Realty currently has 19 properties under contract at Tamarack Resort, and two in Donnelly.  If you were sitting on the fence, now is the time to join the TamFam!  The red hot real estate market in Boise has finally found its way to Tamarack Resort, along with many prospects that have been waiting patiently for stabilization and confidence back in this amazing community.  We have a full summer of events and activities kicking off this Memorial Weekend, with eyes on another incredible ski season just 7 months away.

Update on Page 1 – Row 4, Position 1 is pending as of May 28, 2017:  “In the Heart of Tamarack Resort”…..

Development plans to be revealed soon

The manager of the unfinished Village Plaza at Tamarack Resort has purchased the last remaining properties at the resort that were being offered at auction by Valley County.

D. Michael Dunne of Puyallup, Wash., purchased the 15 parcels with a check for $100,000, or about one-quarter of the $375,000 in property taxes owed on them.

Last week, Valley County commissioners accepted Dunne’s offer after an auction on May 1 failed to draw any bidders.

“We’ve been going for three years now without anything on these properties,” commission chair Gordon Cruickshank said last week. “At least this gets them back on the tax rolls.”

In an interview on Tuesday, Dunne declined comment on the purchase, saying that more information would be available “in a week or 10 days.”

Dunne is the manager of UWW, Inc., which owns Village Plaza, the massive multi-building condo and commercial complex in the core of the resort that has sat unfinished since 2008.

The condos were pre-sold by the original developers, who then had to return the buyers’ earnest money when construction on Village Plaza was halted

The complex was built by Seattle-based Banner/Sabey, which was never fully paid by the developers and which acquired Village Plaza in a sheriff’s sale in 2013. Banner/Sabey created UWW as the owner of the property.

The properties purchased by Dunne include 14 privately owned hotel rooms in the Lodge at Osprey Meadows, the former medical clinic and the former Crane Creek Market.

The properties were the last parcels at the resort to be disposed due to unpaid property taxes.

Last month, a group of Tamarack Resort homeowners paid off the taxes due on 490 acres of bare ground at the resort.

The Tamarack Homeowners Acquisition Company paid $33,368.98 in past-due property taxes to keep the five parcels from being sold at the May 1 auction, the group’s attorney said.

The group previously paid past-due property taxes on facilities needed to run the resort’s ski area, such as the The Canoe Grill and Seven Devils Pub.

There is a separate ownership on the former Osprey Meadows Golf Course, which was closed in 2015 and left to overgrow.

Salt Lake City attorney and businessman Walter Plumb III had said he wanted to spend $20 million to consolidate ownership of the resort and restart construction at the resort.

But Plumb’s efforts were stalled when he was unable to convince the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality to spread out the amount due on a $11.6 million bond used to build part of the sewer system at the resort.

I’ve always said the beauty and master plan of Tamarack Resort make it an any easy draw, but it’s truly the people and the community in which has been built over several years that makes this place so special.  Please enjoy this recent letter from a member of our Tam Fam.

Dear Trisha,

I just needed to reach out and say thank you for helping me with the purchase of our amazing little Cottage in Tamarack. It was honestly the easiest purchase ever. Your attention to detail with the paperwork and managing the punch list items was top notch. A big thanks for providing me with all my contacts that were needed up there as well. Furthermore, all the people who help you do what you do, really care about the success of you, your business, and Tamarack.

After I sold my first home in Tam back in 2009 (thank you again Trisha) it was so heartbreaking to leave. But Tamarack has always been in our hearts. We were still coming back a few times a year, staying with friends or renting a house. It was about time we bought our own place again! We did look at a few other resorts but there was nothing like this special little place. People would always ask me, do I like it better in the winter or summer? They are both the best. I realized I don’t have to decide.

There is something about this little Village that we just love. It’s the people that come here that make it a community. It is hard to describe. It’s just great.   I love being back in gorgeous Tamarack. I am so glad to be back in the TAM FAM.

Best regards,

Linda Jacoby
